A scratch on the window of a vehicle can be a driving hazard. It is possible to remedy with a few household items.
Things You’ll Need
- Toothpaste
- Baking Soda
- Bowl
-
Rinse the scratched area with warm water to remove all accumulated debris, dirt and dust from the window.
-
Mix the toothpaste and baking soda in a bowl until it becomes a thick, pasty substance.
-
Apply the paste directly on the scratch, and allow it to sit for several minutes. Using a nonabrasive hand towel, run the paste compound into the crevices of the scratch. Because this paste solution is abrasive, it helps smooth out the scratches.
-
Rinse off the paste debris from the scratched area with warm water. The scratch should no longer be visible.
Tips & Warnings
- If the scratch on your car’s window is deep, you should consult an automotive professional, as this method is to be used for superficial scratches only.
